| Alaska AK | Alaska Real Estate Commission, Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing | 40 | Yes — subject to approval | A correspondence course must include an unanswered examination, or a project activity, turned in to the INSTRUCTOR for grading on completion; the instrument is submitted to the commission for prior approval (12 AAC 64.430(b)). Automatic server-side scoring alone does not meet this. | In Development | Official regulator website ↗ |
| Arizona AZ | Arizona Department of Real Estate | 90 | Yes — subject to approval | 90-hour prelicense final: at least 75 percent to pass — A.A.C. R4-28-401(A)(1). Examination time is excluded from credit hours where the examination is used for overall evaluation — R4-28-404 — so the final sits outside the 90 instructional hours. ADRE Substantive Policy Statement 2025.01 (Distance Learning Education Course Guidelines, revised 6 March 2025) requires that "final exam questions must be pulled from a question bank with at least a 2:1 ratio", that a minimum 75 percent be achieved on the final before a course completion certificate is issued, and that any end-of-module quiz questions reused on the final be randomly reordered or have their answers reordered. Contract Writing remains a separate course record. | In Development | Official regulator website ↗ |

The Division states state-examination results are good for one year from each portion's passing score and names PSI as the current exam vendor; no item count, time limit, passing score or fee is stated by the Division and none is claimed. | In Development | Official regulator website ↗ |

| Texas TX | Texas Real Estate Commission | 180 | Pending verification | 22 TAC § 535.62(b)(8) requires at least four versions of the final examination; each version must cover every topic the Act or Rules require for the course, contain no true/false questions, repeat no more than one third of the questions from any other version, consist of at least two questions per credit course hour, and draw from a question bank of at least four questions per credit course hour. Section 535.65(h) requires the examination to be given in the manner approved by the Commission, questions to be kept confidential and significantly different from any quiz questions and exercises used in the course, no student to view or take it before completing regular course work, all versions to be rotated through the approval period in a manner acceptable to the Commission at an unweighted passing score of 70%, and administration under conditions ensuring the examinee is the student who registered for and took the course. Section 535.65(i) permits one subsequent examination only after additional course work prescribed by the provider, no later than the 90th day after the original class concludes, on a different version; no credit may be given to a student who fails both. CONFLICT RECORDED, NOT RESOLVED: the rule's own cross-references disagree about which paragraph carries the four-versions requirement — § 535.65(h)(4) cites § 535.62(b)(7) while § 535.65(i) cites § 535.62(b)(8), and the requirement itself sits at (b)(8) in both held copies. StateCourse's administration method remains a provider proposal until TREC approves it; no examination may be administered before then. Read from TREC's published reproduction of 22 TAC Chapter 535, with the subsection lettering confirmed against the Secretary of State's Texas Register publication of the §§ 535.62/535.65 proposal (TRD-202601975, 22 May 2026). The Secretary of State's adopted codified text has still not been opened from this environment, so TX_PROVIDER_RULE_SOURCE_LOCK remains FAIL. | In Development | Official regulator website ↗ |
